Nigeria Endorses 2025 West Africa Trade Summit to Boost Regional Industrial Growth

The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially endorsed the 2025 West Africa Industrialisation, Manufacturing and Trade (IMT) Summit & Exhibition, scheduled to take place from October 21 to 23 in Lagos. The event is expected to serve as a major platform for promoting industrial development and regional trade integration across West Africa.

Organised in collaboration with dmg Events Nigeria, the summit aligns with broader efforts to deepen regional collaboration among governments, investors, and industry leaders. It reflects Nigeria’s commitment to advancing economic transformation through industrialisation and value-added production. The Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment confirmed its active involvement in the planning and execution of the event.

The summit will focus on key issues such as closing infrastructure gaps, strengthening regional supply chains, and enhancing industrial capacity across member states. Delegates are expected from across the region, including public and private sector leaders from Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, and other West African countries. The agenda includes high-level policy dialogues, technical discussions, and investment showcases designed to attract capital and promote cross-border partnerships.

With a strategic emphasis on scaling local production, reducing dependency on imports, and harmonising trade and industrial policies, the summit supports the long-term goals of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and national industrialisation plans. Nigeria’s support signals a renewed push for greater economic self-reliance and integration, anchored by public-private cooperation.

For investors and businesses operating in the region, the 2025 IMT Summit offers a timely opportunity to engage with policymakers, explore joint ventures, and tap into emerging industrial and trade corridors within West Africa.
