Nigerian media entrepreneur Chude Jideonwo has announced the launch of FourthMainland, a new media group bringing together a growing portfolio of content, culture and creator economy businesses under one central operation. Announced in September 2026, the group brings together established platforms including YNaija and Joy Inc., alongside The Masterlist, Chude Jideonwo Presents, the FourthMainland Creator Fund, FourthMainland Agency and FourthMainland Academy. According to Jideonwo’s official update, the group has been developed over the past two years around a broader vision to build a content and creator hub focused on contemporary African storytelling and intellectual property.
The launch brings together businesses operating across digital media, content production, creator investment, talent development and communications. YNaija has established itself as a prominent Nigerian digital media platform, while Joy Inc. has been positioned as part of Jideonwo’s broader media holdings and the vehicle behind his investment in African creators. The FourthMainland Creator Fund was announced in 2025 with a planned $500,000 personal investment from Jideonwo to back individual African creators with the potential to develop scalable media brands. His stated approach was to provide capital and strategic support directly to creators rather than limiting investment to traditional companies or organisations.
FourthMainland arrives as Africa’s creator economy continues to develop from an audience driven ecosystem into a broader commercial sector spanning media, entertainment, advertising, intellectual property and digital platforms. The new structure gives Jideonwo’s various ventures a unified identity while creating a wider platform for developing African stories, creators and media businesses. For Nigeria’s media industry, the formation of FourthMainland also reflects the increasing convergence between traditional digital publishing, creator businesses and investment, as entrepreneurs build integrated platforms designed not only to produce content but also to develop and commercialise the intellectual property and talent behind it.
