Akinade Ibuoye, professionally known as Gaise Baba, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, culture architect and social entrepreneur whose work sits at the intersection of music, culture, business and social impact. An AfroGospel and Afro fusion artist, he has developed a distinctive musical language that moves fluidly between Yoruba, English and Nigerian Pidgin, creating music that is deeply rooted in African identity while engaging contemporary sounds. He studied Economics at Obafemi Awolowo University and later earned a diploma in Music Business from Berklee College of Music. His career has grown beyond recording and performance into a broader mission of using creativity to influence culture and empower young people.

That wider vision is evident in LightOut, his youth focused social impact initiative that uses music, concerts, mentorship and advocacy to engage secondary school and college students around issues including climate action, drug use, cybercrime, abstinence and character development. According to Gaise Baba’s official profile, LightOut has organised 24 impact concerts across Lagos, Ogun State and Abuja, reaching more than 33,000 teenage and pre teen students. His work has also attracted partnerships involving institutions such as the German and Netherlands Consulates in Lagos, the British Council and the Lagos State Office for Climate Change and Circular Economy, reinforcing his position as a connector between creative expression, social development and public engagement.

His influence within contemporary African culture extends through ARAMANDA, an Afro Urban Music and Arts Festival created to connect young Africans with alternative Christian sounds, artistic expression and new forms of cultural engagement. He also founded Black Flame, a culture shaping podcast launched in 2024 that explores stories and conversations around culture, faith, creativity and innovation. His international ambitions have similarly taken shape through performance and conversation. In 2024, he embarked on a six week United Kingdom tour that included a headline performance at London’s Shaw Theatre, appearances in Leicester and Aberdeen, and live editions of Black Flame in Manchester and Birmingham.

Gaise Baba’s music reached a defining commercial moment with No Turning Back II, his 2025 collaboration with Lawrence Oyor. The song debuted at No. 16 on the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs chart and became one of Nigeria’s biggest music stories of the year. YouTube later recognised the video as Nigeria’s most viewed music video of 2025, after it surpassed 41 million views. The track also demonstrated his ability to take faith centred music beyond its traditional audience, becoming a mainstream cultural moment while retaining its Christian message.

That momentum now leads into a new chapter with God Is Cooking, Gaise Baba’s forthcoming 2026 album, scheduled for release on 14 August 2026 through 464 Projects. The project arrives at an important point in his career, following the unprecedented reach of No Turning Back II and a growing international footprint.

More than an artist, Gaise Baba has built an ecosystem around the belief that music can shape conversations, communities and culture. From LightOut and ARAMANDA to Black Flame and his increasingly global musical presence, he represents a generation of African creatives who are using their platforms not simply to entertain, but to influence how young people see themselves, their culture and their possibilities. With God Is Cooking opening his next musical chapter, the Culture Architect is continuing to turn artistic expression into a broader movement.
